I just had to share with you how much I have enjoyed the Shapely blouse pattern from your book. I have made 3 of them with the cap sleeve. They fit so perfectly, it is such a wonderful feeling to know that I can actually button the front and I feel thinner with all the shaping!!! I have worn this pattern with jeans, skirts, cropped pants and it looks fantastic. I have tried every pattern company out there, the big 4, some of the independents but NONE have fit me like your patterns. Sincerely, Nancy Olson

I have used several of Kathleen's patterns before so when I saw this book I knew I needed it. Have made the Slimming Jacket, needed to adjust of course but with the fitting instructions it was not a problem. Have also started using hints she included about wardrobe planning and mix and matching. Great book one every sewer needs.

I teach sewing [beginners to professionals]. Every one of my students just bought a copy of your book, Perfect Plus to use in the classroom. We are all in need of a new wardrobe and this seemed to be the answer. Some of my students are absolute beginners, yet this book seems tailor-made for all the different levels of expertise in the class. We're now planning a shopping trip to a nearby city to get the fabric so we can get started. Thank you! Katrina Alanko, Gravenhurst ON

Perfect Plus arrived yesterday. I have to congratulate you on a super job. It is beautiful. The information is great, well written, almost as if you are here talking to me. The photos are superb. When I opened up the package, my first thought was "trust Kathleen to produce such a lovely book", not just good information but so professionally put together. Well done, I hope you sell a ton of them. I will be making the Flirty Skirt and Shapely Blouse just as soon as I find that base fabric that is the perfect color! Thanks so much for creating this book. Julie Culshaw, Halifax NS

Kathleen, I have to tell you that, after purchasing this book from you, reading it cover-to-cover and trying the patterns [all of which I LOVE], I borrowed some other books on fashion and wardrobe building from the library. I've done quite a lot of reading and studying about it since I read your book. I've come to the conclusion that I love your book even more. Other books give lists of "must-have" garments that every women should have in their closet. Your approach of having the reader figure out what kind of activities she spends most of her time doing and what kind of clothing she needs to do those activities then basing the wardrobe on those needs individualizes process for each reader. My own needs have changed over the years from the attire needed by a teacher to the attire needed by a work-at-home business woman. That's a big difference! Even now, while I need a few blazer/skirt/pants combos, I mostly wear casual clothes that need to be super-comfy but flattering too. Your book made me take a critical look at my life and my wardrobe and make smart decisions about what pieces I really need. Now I know what types of pieces are "investment" pieces for me. Thanks for putting together such a wonderful, beautiful, and well-researched book.

Kathleen, I purchased this book about a year ago and have been meaning to write and say "Thank you!" I am 5'7" but I am a petite on long legs, and the shape and fit of all the garments in this book is amazing, flattering, and comfortable. I added 2" through the body and 4" through the legs, and it is a perfect fit. I've become adept at alterations from your instructions, and truly enjoy having a closet full of clothes that require no tugging, twisting, and pulling up or down to get through the day. Hold on - it gets even better. I started with a basic camel colored pants suit and followed your guide to wardrobe planning a piece at a time, taking my swatches with me every time I shopped. I got rid of what doesn't fit in color or in size. Today the garments in my closet all mix and match, fit well, and flatter me. My hardest choices about what to wear are because I have so many favorites. This is the best sewing book I have ever owned.
